Short films and longer films from one brief
October 13, 2026 · Deepscene
Short and Film are two kinds on the same Deepscene production desk. A short locks a character sheet first, then the place and the cuts. A film is a longer piece with its own person and its own world. It does not reuse the short's cast. You set the runtime. The script is written for that length.
How to use it
- Open Short or Film.
- Write the idea, or paste a script. Edit script and Upload script sit on the prompt card and on the script card.
- Let the storyline and the script land. Writing does not spend image or video credits.
- Accept the proposed cast, then generate the sheets you want. Each character gets a reference sheet, and each distinct look gets its own outfit still. Upload an image on a focused name if you already have the face.
- Generate the places and props you choose, then sync and animate the cuts.
Seedance 2.5 can hold a cut up to about 30 seconds. Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 hold up to 15 seconds, so a longer cut is split once, on a beat, and the second clip opens on the frame the first was holding. Download any sheet, still, or cut from its card. Export compiles the timeline to a film file when you want the whole piece.
Where to use it
Use Short for a single story you can watch in a few minutes. Use Film when the same idea needs a longer cut and its own cast. For several chapters of one show, use Episodic. For an ad built around a product, use Commercials. For one clip with no cast, use Text to video.
What you pay
Starter is $15 a month for 150 credits: about 75 standard stills, or 75 seconds of Seedance 2.5 at 480p. A standard still, including a character sheet, is 2 credits. Seedance 2.5 is 2 credits a second at 480p and 5 at 720p. Kling 3.0 with audio is 4 credits a second. Creator is $39 for 420 credits. Studio is $99 for 1,100 credits. Cancel any time. No setup fee. Questions
Do I have to approve every sentence before a picture is made?
You direct the steps. The script finishes before you spend on sheets and cuts. Nothing is regenerated unless you ask.
Can I bring my own face?
Yes. On a focused character, Upload image stores that file as the still and does not spend a generation.
